2/2/2010, MVA Airport Road

Tuesday evening's snowy conditions brought a dispatch, near midnight, for an MVA into a pole with wires down on Airport Road . Engine 252 went on the scene confirming dispatch. Negative entrapment, negative injuries; Squad 54 was placed in service and Shippensburg Fire Police were called to the scene. Engine 2 went back in service and the Fire Police cleared the scene at 2:19 a.m..

Two Vehicle Accident - Shippensburg Township

Dispatched at 0127 hrs for  an auto accident on Walnut Bottom Road at the entrance to Kmart. Engine 252 on the scene, two vehicles with confinement in one. Engine 2's crew assisted the Squad with stabilization and the ambulance with patient removal. E252 went in service at 0204 hrs. Fire Police remained until 0220 hrs.

2/5/2010 Tree House fire, Roxbury Road

On Thursday, February 5th, 2010, at 1424 hrs., Company 52 was dispatched to the 3500 block of Roxbury Road in Southampton Township Franklin County for a reported shed fire.  Engine Co. 15 arrived on the scene and reported a tree house attached to an outbuilding on fire.  E 252 arrived 2nd due and crews pulled a back up line to support initial attacks.  Fire was contained to just the two story tree house, no extension into the shed.  Co. 52 personnel assisted with overhaul and extension check before going in service at 1447 hrs.  Cause of the fire still under investigation.

2/12/2010 Bldg #44, Cargill Feeds - Greene Township

At approximately 00:15hrs 2/12/10 the members of Vigilant Hose Company were alerted for the second alarm for the working building fire at Letterkenny Army Depot Building 44 in Greene Township. Engine 252 and Tanker 52 responded promptly with 8 volunteers. The crew from Engine 252 sent manpower to check for extension on the roofs of two other buildings. The tanker assisted with a water shuttle and hauled several loads of water. Company 52 returned to service at about 0645hrs.

2-14-10 House Fire - Lurgan Township

On 2/14/10 Engine and Tanker company 52 were alerted for the house fire in Franklin County Lurgan Township. Units arrived to find a working double wide mobile home fire. The crew from Engine 252 assisted in extinguishing the fire as well as salvage and over haul operations. The house was a total loss.

2/15/2010 - House Fire - Amberson Road - Fannett Township

Tanker 52 was dispatched for a House fire on Amberson Road, Fannett Township Franklin County. Units went on scene with chimney fire with extention into the attic and adjacent walls. Tanker 52 was assigned to resuppy Tanker 251 and were placed inservice by command with no water transfered. The Tanker crew then made the slow journey back across the mountain in the freezing rain and snow.

 

 

2/18/2010 Auto Accident - Southampton Township

Feb 18th at 11:37 hours the alarm was struck for a MVA at the Intersection of Baltimore Rd and Cleversburg Rd with entrapment. Chief 152 peered out his front door to find a two vehicle collision. Upon further investigation by Chief 152, the Chief found there was negative entrapment. Under the direction of Chief 152, E252 and Squad 54 assisted EMS with the removal of a patient from one vehicle. Chief 152 called Headquarters to have the EAGLE summoned to the scene. E252 handled the LZ. The work horse of the Vigilant Hose Co. "the Fire Police" remained on the scene to assist PSP with traffic control during their investigation until 12:45hrs.   by Clark Kent

2-18-2010 Auto Accident

Units were dispatched to the intersection of Baltimore Rd and Cleversburg Rd for the MVA.  C-152 was quickly on the scene to find 2 vehicles involved with 1 serious patient.  A second ambulance from Co 73 was requested and eventually air medical was requested to the scene.  Crews from E-252 and S-54 assisted EMS with removing the patient from the vehicle.  E-252 eventually changed locations and established a landing zone for the helicopter.  Units cleared with PSP and SFD Fire Police remaining on the scene.
