1-1-11 - New Years Day - VEHICLE INTO HOUSE - NORTH PRINCE STREET
1-1-11 Auto Accident New Years Day Company 52 rang in the new year with a bang. Co. 52 and Squad 54 were dispatched for the auto accident vehicle into the house with no injuries. Engine 252 responded with 6 to find one auto into the front porch with 2 subjects still in the vehicle. Duty 52 assumed command and both crews went to work to free the 2 subjects from the car. After some further investigation and some building stabilization, both crews cleared. Special thanks to the Shippensburg Township surpervisor who came out on New Years Day to make sure everthing was in order.
1-3-11 - BRUSH AND DEBRIS FIRE 6700 BLOCK OF OLDE SCOTLAND ROAD
1-3-11 - Brush and Debris Fire - 6700 block of Olde Scotland Road Brush 52 was dispatched to assist Company 15 with a brush fire in the 6700 block of Olde Scotland Road. Duty 15 and Brush 52 arrived to find a burn pile and the back yard on fire. Brush 52 deployed the booster line and extinguished the brush fire whil company 15 pulled a handline and took care of the burn pile. All units cleared in about 45 minutes. By Brady Oursler
1-9-11 House Fire - St. Thomas Township
1-9-11 House Fire - St. Thomas Township - Franklin County On Sunday, January 9, Tanker 52 was dispatched to Edenville/Cheesetown Road in St. Thomas Township for a working house fire. Units from St. Thomas, Franklin Fire Company and others battled a two story house fire. Tanker 52 delivered one load of water before returning to Shippensburg.
1-11-11 Garbage Truck Fire in a Structure
1-11-11 Garbage Truck Fire in the Stucture - Shippensburg Borough Shippensburg Fire Department was dispatched to South Penn Street for a vehicle fire inside the structure. Upon arrival units found a working garbage truck fire now outside the structure.Crews extinguished the fire and checked the building for extension before returning to service.
1-15-11 Multi-vehicle accident - mud level road & Britton Road
1-15-11 Multi-Vehicle Accident - Mud Level Road & Britton Road - Southampton Township Saturday evening, January 15th, shortly after 11 PM, the Vigilants were dispatched to an auto accident at Mudlevel Road and Britton Road. Engine 2 went on scene with what appeared as a multiple vehicle accident but only one vehicle in the roadway. That vehicle apparently struck another vehicle and caught fire. The fire was quickly knocked down by filling the engine compartment with snow and a passing civilian with a fire extinguisher. Crews evaluated all occupants, put down high dri and swept debris from the road. In all four vehicle turned out to be involved. Fire Police remained until the roadway was clear. 1-16-11 Mobile Home Fire - Upper Strasburg Road
1-16-11 Mobile Home Fire - Upper Strasburg Road - Letterkenny Township - Franklin County Engine 252 was dispatched Mutual Aid to Franklin County, Letterkenny Twp. for a Mobile Home Fire, and responded with 6. Enroute Command 11 advised they had a fire, and were making an attack. Engine 252 arrived and assisted with ventilation and the removal of a portion of the trailer wall per command 11. While on scene command notified units that there were reports of numerous reptiles living in the trailer. Crew was on scene approximately 30 minutes before being released. Traffic 52 Update
Traffic 52 Update The new Traffic 52 has left the painters and is at the graffic place for scotchliting and will be in town in a couple weeks. Old Traffic 52 will be given back the the CV Hose Company here in Shippensburg. 1-29-11 Single Vehicle Accident with Confinement
1-29-11 Single Vehicle Accident on Newville Road Units from 52 and 15, along with Ambulance from 73, were dispatched to the 200 block of Newvile Road for an auto accident (Route 533 near Duncan Road). Arriving units found a single vehicle with one patient comfined. 52's crew stabilizeed the vehicle while Squad personnel removed the passengers door and B post. Fire police maintained a single lane of traffic until the roadway was cleared. 1-29-11 Old Traffic 52 Goes Out of Service
1-29-11 Old Traffic 52 Goes Out of Service With the new traffic unit arriving within the next couple of weeks Fire Police and other members spent Saturday morning in the annex emptying out the old unit. The 1980 Chevrolet step van was previouly Air 53. CV Hose donated the unit to the Vigilant Hose Company for use as a Traffic support unit. Traffic 52 went in service in May of 2003 and was placed out of service on January 29, 2011 and returned to the CV Hose Company.
